5 DAILY FACIAL ROUTINE STEPS TO FOLLOW FOR HEALTHY SKIN

Maintaining a consistent facial routine will prevent your skin from having clogged pores and the buildup of dirt. It is important to treat your skin daily, especially after wearing make-up.

Throughout the day we are exposed to dirt, dust, bacteria, viruses and other known pollutants. In order for your skin to have that clean and fresh look you’ll need to wash your face daily to remove any impurities.

1. Cleanse

It is essential to remove any form of make-up, dead skin cells, or excess oil before bed every night. If you sleep with make-up on your face it will seep down into your skin which will lead to clogged pores and cause the skin to breakout.

Cleansing your face in the morning is also important to remove any sweat and impurities that have accumulated overnight while sleeping. While sleeping, your skin sweat and produce more oil which leads to having an excessive amount of oil leading to a dramatic rise in breakouts.

2. Tone

Always choose a toner that is right for your skin because everyone has different skin types. If you do not know your skin type I suggest going with a toner that is used for sensitive skin. Toners for sensitive skin usually have fewer ingredients, especially harsh ones.

I like to use this brand toner, “Simple kind to skin soothing facial toner” mainly because it’s gentle and does not dry out my skin. This product is also free of alcohol which makes it even more beneficial for my skin, no stinging feeling.


3. Moisturize

Moisturizing your skin will reduce the chances of skin problems such as dry skin, and mask out impurities. It also protects the outer layer of your skin from the harmful effects of the sun, and other environmental factors. If your moisturizer doesn’t contain sunscreen you can always try adding a pea size amount mixed with your regular moisturizer or apply it to your skin afterwards. This is mainly done if you’re getting sun exposure.

I usually prefer to stick with products for sensitive skin purposely because they contain less harsh ingredients. You may need to find a moisturizer that is suitable for your skin; as I mentioned previously if you do not know your skin type get yourself a moisturizer for sensitive skin.


4. Facial Mask

Face masks are absolutely the perfect skincare treatment for the majority of skin concerns and to provide a deep clean. Using a face mask is one of the easiest and convenient way to get your skin looking radiant and healthy. Applying a face mask gives you the lay a way to do things within 10-20 minutes, or you can simply treat yourself and relax.

A good quality face mask deep clean to remove dirt, oil, make-up, and bacteria from your skin. You may want to choose a mask that is suitable for your skin type.


5. Exfoliate

Exfoliating your skin properly is important as it helps to remove dirt and dead skin cells from the top layer surface of your skin. Exfoliation correctly will ensure that dead skin cells are swept away, revealing a fresher, brighter and smoother skin.

A regular exfoliating skincare routine will leave your skin radiant and glowing. Exfoliating your skin once or twice a week is enough, depending on your sensitivity tolerance. If you exfoliate too much it will damage your skin leaving it irritated and dry.
